Fine hospitality is well known on the Wartberg hill. Even the founder of the Hasenmayer was the son of a Pforzheim gastronom who was well-known for his exellent quality food and service as well as his generous hospitality and comfortable ambience.

This son of a coffee-house dynasty ( his grand parents and parents had some cade´s in and around Pforzheim ) had the idea to change a farmhouse into a coffee-house on top of the Wartberg in 1926. After this transformation he established a bus connection from the main station to the Wartberg.

In 1939 son Hugo and his wife took the business over and brought the establishment into ist third gereration. In 1960 he renovated and remodeled the entire building and expanded it into a two-story hotel over the existing cafe.

Since 1974 the present owners Waltraud and Dietmar Weiß have been running the hotel and restaurant with the same inspiration as before and now their son Siegfried has joined them in the same way.

In the year 1994 Family Weiß finished a new building which connects to the old one in a modern and comfortabel way.
